Social: Proximity Voice Chat is Here
Arguably the most anticipated immersion feature for multiplayer has arrived. Proximity Voice Chat now allows you to speak naturally to players near you in the world of Orbis.
- Full Immersion: Audio is spatialized; as you move away, your friends' voices will naturally fade.
- Safety First: Child accounts have this feature disabled by default to ensure a safe environment for younger players.
- Advanced Settings: Noise suppression, Push-to-Talk mode, and input gain settings are all available in the audio menu.
Tools & Technical: Instances and Backups
For modders and power users, this update brings essential stability tools:
- Multi-Instance Support: You can now run multiple Hytale windows simultaneously (perfect for testing mods or managing a server while playing).
- Backup Manager: A new interface allows you to easily restore corrupted worlds or roll back to a previous save.
- Fallback Servers: Hosts can now configure a redirect server to automatically catch players if the main server goes down.
Building: 500 Reasons to Create
The block catalog is exploding with the arrival of complete thematic sets:
- Natural Sets: New variants for Limestone, Slate, and Cooled Magma.
- Cybercity Style: Introduction of the first sci-fi blocks, including neon signs, modern windows, and even a functional arcade machine.
- Total Freedom: Windows and cloth roofs no longer require support blocks for placement. Pillars can now be placed horizontally.
Gameplay Adjustments
- Combat: Bows now require physical ammunition (arrows) to fire. Tools (axes, pickaxes) now lose durability even when used on wood.
- Alchemy: A full rework of health and energy potions with new 3D models and gradual healing effects.
- AI: Moose movement speed has been reduced by 20%, making Zone 1 encounters more manageable for beginners.
